Lafayette Square

Why we love the City

St. Louis City is comprised of many diverse neighborhoods. The homes are as diverse as the people who live in them. In Lafayette Square, many of the homes are sprawling mansions when compared to the shotgun homes on the Hill and small brick bungalows throughout South City, but Lafayette Square has the distinction of majestic historical Victorian era homes. Bob Kahn has owned several styles of homes, but his home at 1422 Mississippi Ave. is just short of amazing. Bob chose Lafayette Square because of the diversity, walkability, and historic architecture.

Neighborhood Spotlight

Lafayette Square is a vibrant St. Louis neighborhood with a diverse community, stunning architecture, rich history, and it’s close to everything. The neighborhood is located southwest of downtown St. Louis and is juxtaposed between Lafayette Park and Soulard Farmer’s Market.

Mere blocks away is Bailey’s Chocolate Bar, Square one Brewery, SqWires, and the specialty pet store Four Muddy Paws.

1422 Mississippi has been completely renovated but has kept historical details intact. From the roof top deck you will enjoy the iconic views of the arch and surrounding downtown area. A state of the art RSI kitchen is complemented by a grand dining and family room. In the kitchen you will find two center islands and a butler pantry, rich hardwood floors and exposed brick. Spa like bathrooms are "off the hook” with exquisitely tiled floor large soaking tub. The upgraded HVAC keeps all three floors cool in the sweltering Saint Louis summer. I almost forgot the two car garage; it's every city dwellers dream!

Bottom line, if you are looking to buy a home in St. Louis City, then 1422 Mississippi Ave. in Lafayette Park is the perfect solution. Style, timeless beauty, diversity, walkability, and eclectic tastes all prevail in this neighborhood.
